Why Are Christmas Cards A Thing?
September is coming to an end and with it, the festive season begins to draw closer. One aspect of Christmas which brings much enjoyment, along with a good amount of stress is sending cards to friends and family. But where did this tradition of sending Christmas cards begin, and why do we still do it in the age of email? Today I’m going to share a very short history of the Christmas card, how we got into the habit of sending cards every year, and at the end, I will be shilling my own Christmas cards which I’ve just released on Etsy. Are Hogwarts Acceptance Letters Historically Accurate?
Something which has never quite made sense about the Harry Potter universe is their rejection of muggle technology. JK Rowling makes it quite clear that Arthur Weasley is seen as an odd-ball because of his interest in all things muggle. In fact, the Wizarding World seems to be stuck in the Middle Ages in several different ways. The answer is complicated because it would be impossible…

I want to talk about something a little different today. I know my blog mostly focuses on bullet journals. But there are also other forms of journaling out there. One type of journal I’ve become fascinated with recently is the commonplace book. I’ve come across people talking about commonplace books before, but I’ve always had the impression that a commonplace book was a notebook where you wrote things you wanted to remember. Though this is true, the commonplace book is a little more complicated than that. And what I find most interesting, historically had a specific purpose. So today I want to share exactly what a commonplace book is and…

How To Create A Productive Workspace
Today I want to talk about something slightly different. Between university work and other freelance bits, I spend a lot of time working from home. Its something I’ve gotten used to over time, I have space which works for me. But with the introduction of lockdown many more people have begun working from home. So today I want to share some tips on how to create a productive workspace. Now I am extremely fortunate in that I have a dedicated studio space that I can work in. I know many many people won’t be as lucky as me. I’m hoping these tips will still be of use to those of…
