Book Review | Noumenon by Marina J. Lostetter

Noumenon is a new science fiction book written by Marina J. Lostetter. With nods to Rama by Arthur C Clarke, it is about a fleet of generational ships, manned by clones, travelling to a far-off star. SUMMARY Astrophysicist Reggie Straifer has an idea. He’s discovered an anomalous star that appears to defy the laws of physics and proposes the creation of a deep-space mission to find out whether the star is a weird natural phenomenon or something manufactured. The journey will take aeons. In order to maintain the genetic talent of the original crew, humankind’s greatest ambition—to explore the furthest reaches of the galaxy—is undertaken by clones. But a clone…

Humanity has finally been accepted into the galactic community, but while this has opened doors for many,…

This means that I really enjoyed most of the books on this list, but also I’ve already reviewed most of them. Even though I’m basically rehashing things…

So remember back in August I wrote about the MinaLima editions of Peter Pan and Jungle Book, at the time I said I would literally buy every book MinaLima released. Well two days ago I found out MinaLima had released a new edition of The Beauty and the Beast (I presume to go along with the movie), any way I found out about it and immediately bought it. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST The thing I’ve been learning a lot about in class just now is how to use design to make something feel expensive. Good design can turn something normal into a premium product. This is a good example of it because…
