    How To Make A Notebook

I love the A5 fabric journals from Paperchase and this month I decided to try and make my own. This is not going to be a tutorial as I used the videos on Sea Lemon‘s channel, but instead I am going to share what changes I made. I used the DIY Tom Riddle’s Diary tutorial but you should also check out the How to Make a Text Block tutorial if you want to try making your own diary. BOOKBINDING TUTORIAL In the video Sea Lemon uses leather, I decided to use cotton, or at least I thought I was going to be using cotton. I wanted to use Liberty of London…

    Tiny Watercolours

Every time I visit the doctor I am asked how much time I have spent painting. Not because my doctor has a specific interest in my artwork but because it is a good way of telling how tired I have been in a specific month. The last two months have been particularly difficult and as a result of this I pretty much lost all desire to do any artwork. What’s In My Sketchbook

I’m terrible at finishing sketchbooks. I usually give up on a sketchbook half way through and buy another one. So the fact that not only did I finish a sketchbook but did it in under 4 months is kind of unbelievable. So here are some of my favourite pages. HAND LETTERING Some advice from my doctor just after being diagnosed with CFS. I did another version of this which became sort of popular on Tumblr. I Have Loved The Stars: I had seen something like this on Etsy and really wanted to buy it, but the artist had attributed the quote to Galileo. It’s actually from The Old Astronomer by Sarah…

How To Paint Patterns On Paper

Painting patterns has become one of my favourite things to do while watching movies. I find it very calming, similar to those colouring books which were very popular for a while. Its fun and literally the easiest thing to do. If you can hold a paintbrush you can do this. HOW TO PAINT PATTERNS ON PAPER SUPPLIES PAINT PATTERNS And voilà. You made a pattern. Don’t worry about it being perfect. I find the imperfections make the pattern more interesting to look at. You can also use decorative paper punches to make a stencil to trace around. Just like the ones I have done below. If you really wanted to you…

    How to Make Marbled Paper

Paper marbling is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other stone. This technique is normally done with kids but considering the amount of mess I managed to make I wouldn’t recommend it. This paper marbling technique is really easy to do and you’ll get some interesting pages as a result. These could be used in other art projects or you could even use them as envelopes or wrapping paper. YOU WILL NEED: How: This technique is lots of fun. You could spend hours and hours trying out different paint combinations and different types of paper. I really enjoyed dipping coloured sheets…
