A No Spoiler Review of Cursed Child

It’s difficult talking about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child because I really really don’t want to give away any spoilers. So I think I will have to split this into three parts. This is the non spoiler part, then there will be a part for the story spoilers and another for play spoilers. That way people who have read the book but not seen the play can see what I thought of the story without getting any spoilers for the play. I should also point out I am reviewing the story as I saw it in the play, I haven’t actually read the book yet and at this point…

Harry Potter and the Very Expensive Theatre Trip

So it was recently announced that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be playing in London next summer, I know that was announced a while ago but in my excitement about the new news (it being the ‘eighth Harry Potter book’). I forgot one important thing. Harry Potter is a global phenomena and not everybody can afford to go see this play. Which I think is really unfair. Going to London is expensive. Then there are the many websites solely devoted to Harry Potter fanfiction. I think the thing I enjoy most about Harry Potter fanfiction is the speculation. How could the series have been different if a few small things were changed. Then we have the fact that I…

Who Would Win In A Fight: Harry Potter Or Gandalf

A few months ago someone left a comment asking who I thought would win in a fight between Gandalf and Harry Potter. At the time I said gandalf would obviously win as Gandalf is basically an angel. However the more I looked into it the more I realised that the question was not quite as simple as it appears. Okay we will start off with Gandalf, in Tolkien lore he is basically some sort of mythological being. Gandalf or as he was originally named Olórin was one of the Maiar. These were spirits that descended to Arda (middle-earth) to help the Valar (it’s a bit complicated but they are basically…
