10 Books Which Made My Dissertation

Usually, at the end of every year, I would do a roundup of all the books I read that year. I didn’t write one at the end of 2020 because I was too busy working on my dissertation. However, most of the books I did read in 2020 were for my dissertation. The topic of my dissertation ended up being related to the content on my blog. So today I thought it might be interesting to share some of the books I read during the research process.  I won’t go into massive detail, but my dissertation looked at how new digital technologies have changed how we as a society write.…

What Is A Commonplace Book & How To Use It

I want to talk about something a little different today. I know my blog mostly focuses on bullet journals. But there are also other forms of journaling out there. One type of journal I’ve become fascinated with recently is the commonplace book. I’ve come across people talking about commonplace books before, but I’ve always had the impression that a commonplace book was a notebook where you wrote things you wanted to remember. I think a lot of people work under the assumption that you need to have nice handwriting to be good at calligraphy. I’m here to say you really don’t. I’ll insert an image so you can see what my calligraphy was like when I started. It’s only very recently that I…

Palomino Blackwing Long Point Sharpener Review

I mentioned in a blog post recently that I wasn’t a fan of using graphite pencils. As such, I had no real opinions when it comes to pencil sharpeners either. When I bought the Palomino Blackwing pencils I also bought a Blackwing long point sharpener. This is probably the fanciest pencil sharpener I’ve ever bought. I’m surprised I’m even writing this post. For a long time, I’ve just used a scalpel when I need to sharpen a pencil. But this is the first time I’ve ever used a pencil sharpener which is actually good. It is also the strangest pencil sharpener I’ve ever used.  I realise that considering the times…

How To Start A Bullet Journal: A Guide For Beginners

I’ve been bullet journaling for a long time now. I love using my bullet journal; it helps me stay organised and work out ideas. It’s also a place I can look back on to see what I was doing. So today, I want to share some of what I’ve learned and teach you how to start a bullet journal. If you’re an absolute beginner at bullet journaling, it may be a good idea to check out the bullet journal website which has everything you need to know about bullet journaling. You could also look at The Bullet Journal Method. Again this book is essentially a tutorial on how to start…
