What I Keep In My Bag For Art School
A long time ago I decided that at some point during my university education I would share a what’s in my bag type post. I know how cliched these types of posts have become but I wanted to do it. Just based on reading a few other similar posts I think what I take with me to university is quite different compared to other students. I’m not saying this in an oh I’m so special sort of way. But art students have different needs compared to English or science students so I thought it would be interesting to share what I keep in my bag for art school. If things…

3 Productivity Apps Which Help Me Get Stuff Done
A little while ago I read an article about the cult of productivity. It talked about how being productive as a way to keep doing more can be bad for your health. Are Muji Pens Overrated? A Gel Pen Comparison
I haven’t properly been in the blogosphere for a while. One of the interesting things which happened during my time away was how the stationery/ studyblr community collectively moved away from the Muji gel pens as a ‘must-have’ stationery item. The funny thing is that my personal opinion on the Muji pens hasn’t changed all that much. So today I want to do a gel pen comparison with a few other brands to see just how good the Muji gel pens are. Are Muji Pens Overrated? A Gel Pen Comparison The Problem With Muji Gel Pens I’ve mentioned the Muji pens a few times in the past and I’ve always…

Paper vs Digital: Which writing system is best?
I graduated from university in 2021 and in my final year I chose to work on projects which would help me the most in the future. As such I chose to write my dissertation on handwriting. I’m now working as a freelance calligrapher so having the chance to combine research with practical knowledge was a fantastic opportunity. My dissertation specifically looked at handwriting and assessed the need for continuing handwriting education. With technological advancements handwriting as a skill is becoming less necessary in modern society. But this research led to an interesting question. Which is better, paper or digital based writing? The answer is complicated because it would be impossible…

Leuchtturm1917 Bullet Journal Notebook Review
I am extremely late to the party with this review. Today I want to talk about the Leuchtturm bullet journal. This is the original “official” bullet journal notebook made from a collaboration between Ryder Caroll and Leuchtturm. Since writing this post Leuchtturm has released a new updated version of the Bullet Journal notebook. I originally bought this notebook in the before-times (January 2020) for my dissertation module. A lot has happened since then and this notebook has been at my side for a good part of the last 2 years. So today I want to share some of my thoughts on the Leuchtturm bullet journal notebook and help you decide…
