A Review Of My Art & Design Work From 2018

Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen a number of artists look back at the work they did in 2018. I might be running a little late but I think my art massively improved during 2018. Between working on a portfolio to use for art school and trying out new techniques like screen printing and cyanotype. I created a huge amount of work in 2018 which I’m really proud of. So today I thought I would share some of my art & design work from the last year. MY ART & DESIGN WORK FROM 2018 ABSTRACT ART Throughout 2018 I spent time working with texture and mark making. How I Edit and Schedule Instagram Photos

As a designer, Instagram is a great way to promote my work. I have a second Instagram account just for my art and design work. Since the new API update, Instagram has allowed business accounts to directly schedule photos rather than manually post them. Today I thought I would share how I edit and schedule Instagram photos for my art account. My Instagram Tips: White Balance

Today I thought I would share one really simple trick which has made my Instagram photos look better. That is adjusting the white balance. Some of my photos are taken using my digital SLR so the process I use changes depending on what camera I took the photo with. I know some people think not using a phone is cheating but my view has always been use the best camera you have available. Sometimes this is my phone and sometimes this is my SLR. HOW I EDIT INSTAGRAM PHOTOS Another little handy tip for any bloggers out there. You can change your Instagram account to a business…

    Graphic Design Festival Scotland 2016

I am very late in posting this. Every September/ October time Graphic Design Festival Scotland holds a poster design competition. You don’t have to create a poster on a specific thing, you just create a poster. The best posters are then shown in an exhibition at The Lighthouse in Glasgow. Here are the photos from the second year I went (from last September). Like I said I should have posted about this a long time ago. THE POSTER EXHIBITION I feel weird saying this but this exhibition wasn’t actually that good. The posters don’t have a specific theme which means it can be very overwhelming. Some were interesting to look…
