Record Of A Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers

Record of A Spaceborn Few is the third part of the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers. All books in this series are set in the same shared universe, meaning you can read the books in any order you wish. This series is a fantastic speculative science-fiction series set in a Star Trek-like universe where humans are not the powerful force in the universe. RECORD OF A SPACEBORN FEW SUMMARY Centuries after the last humans left Earth, the Exodus Fleet is a living relic, a place many are from but few outsiders have seen. My Favourite Books of 2017

I have a confession to make. I didn’t want to write this post for 2017. The only reason I am doing it is because I don’t want to break my four year streak. I really haven’t read a huge amount this year, mostly because I’ve been busy or tired (sometimes both!). This means that I really enjoyed most of the books on this list, but also I’ve already reviewed most of them. Even though I’m basically rehashing things…

Book Review | Artemis by Andy Weir

I was a bit afraid before starting Artemis if I’m totally honest. The Martian is one of my all time favourite books and I was worried that my love for that book would spoil this one. In that I would get so hyped I would be disappointed when the time came around to actually reading it because it didn’t live up to my expectations. This is a legitimate problem I have faced a number of times in the past, fortunately in this case it didn’t happen. THE PLOT I think the best way to describe Artemis is it’s a heist story. Artemis is an established base on the Moon. Our main…

Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer

And is the first part of the Terra Ignota series which is continued in Seven Surrenders.  This is a challenging book to read but the payout it gives is worthwhile. Carlyle Foster is a sensayer–a spiritual counselor in a world that has outlawed the public practice of religion, but which also knows that the inner lives of humans cannot be wished…
