Are Hogwarts Acceptance Letters Historically Accurate?
Something which has never quite made sense about the Harry Potter universe is their rejection of muggle technology. JK Rowling makes it quite clear that Arthur Weasley is seen as an odd-ball because of his interest in all things muggle. In fact, the Wizarding World seems to be stuck in the Middle Ages in several different ways. You could argue that there is no need for electricity or modern transportation methods when you have a magic wand that lets you do almost anything. In some cases, the “muggle world” moved on from these older technologies for very good reasons. Today I want to take a look at the writing system…

The Ultimate Harry Potter Gift Guide
That time of year is coming up very soon where you have to buy lots of presents for people you may only vaguely know. Today I have a rundown of the best things to buy the Harry Potter fan in your life. New editions of the Potter books are great but the story doesn’t actually change. A Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Theatre Review
I’m going to talk some more about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. To be more specific I’m going to talk about spoiler elements. If you haven’t seen the play I highly recommend you go see it before reading this post. If you still haven’t made up your mind about seeing the play you should read my spoiler free review instead. HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD AT THE PALACE THEATRE I think my favourite thing about seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was how they used the theatre. From the tiny details like the gryffin lanterns outside to the little cherubs inside holding lights (fun fact: while Priscilla…

A Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Story Discussion
Warning: this post contains spoilers for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Only read this post if you have read the Cursed Child script (or seen the play). Okay but seriously though, if you haven’t read the book yet don’t read this post. Like really don’t read this post. Go do something else with your life, go listen to the Hamilton soundtrack. But seriously. Don’t read this post. I think we need to start out with the biggest wtf moment of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Bellatrix did the nasty with Voldemort. Thats an image I never wanted and will now never get out of my head. Just like…
