What To Do When You’re Stuck At Home

I think we can all agree a lot has changed in the last week. Even if you worked from home, this new Coronavirus has upended our usual way of living. You’ve probably heard a lot of people talking about ‘flattening the curve’ and social distancing as a way to stop the spread of COVID-19. This means not going outside for anything but work or shopping. For most people, this is a big ask, but one thing I realised was that for myself and many other people with chronic illnesses this was already our way of life way before anyone had heard of COVID-19.  I’ve tried to collate as much information…

Looking Back On 2019 & My 2020 Goals

How has everyone’s festive season been? My immune system thought the best way to say goodbye to 2019 would be if I came down with a cold once university was finished. I’m not even joking. I started feeling ill almost immediately after my last meeting of the semester. I’m currently trying to write this post while dealing with said cold.  Like previous years I have decided to start 2020 by looking back over 2019 and discussing some of my highlights. Overall it has been quite a good year. We had some important family-related stuff happen this year. I didn’t achieve quite as much compared to 2018, but still, it has…

Final Week Before Assessment | Art School Diary #13

The final week before my semester one hand in date was quite hectic. With two projects needing to be finished not to mention an essay which still hadn’t been written. Being my first hand in at art school this was quite stressful, coming into the course from college made it hard knowing what level the lecturers expect you to be, when it comes to your work. But I’m glad to say I coped with the week, CFS problems and all. STAYING ORGANISED I know I just said this week was stressful, but that isn’t quite the truth. One of the most important things I learned at college was time management.…

Meeting With Disability Services | ASD #12

This week at university I did more work on my modernist art publication and had a really positive meeting with disability services. From this meeting, they were able to put measures in place to help me with my studies. MEETING WITH DISABILITY SERVICES By this point, I was getting close to the end of the semester and it was really starting to show through my health. My bad days were getting worse and I was having more of them. To the point where I only managed to make it into the studio for a half day the whole week. Fortunately, I also had a meeting with disability services scheduled for…

Looking Back On 2018 & My 2019 Goals

2018 has been a year of changes and trying out new things. For once I’m not going to say that really cliched 2017 feels like it was just a month ago. I’ve packed a whole lot of stuff into the year. But honestly, I’m having an existential crisis over the fact 2020 is just a year away. LOOKING BACK ON 2018 UNIVERSITY One of what I would consider the biggest things about 2018 was the fact I got a place at university. I’ve been working towards this goal for so long. Its strange knowing I’m now at this point. Looking back just a few years ago I didn’t think I…
